Our Tradition
OUR HISTORY
We are an Anglican church plant in Zelienople that has been gathering for worship since September 2024. At the invitation of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, a small group of us began exploring the work of planting a new congregation north of Pittsburgh. Since then, we have been growing together and gradually adding gatherings as we seek a permanent home and move toward weekly worship.
We invite you to join us as we deepen our roots in this community and seek to know and share the love of Jesus. Everything we do begins with, is because of, and is directed toward him.

WHAT IS
ANGLICANISM?
Anglicanism is a historic expression of Christianity that seeks to hold together what the Church has always believed with a deep confidence in the authority of Scripture. Born out of the English Reformation, Anglicanism did not reject the ancient Church, but sought to renew it—recovering the gospel while preserving the Church’s historic worship, creeds, and sacramental life.
Anglicans believe the Bible is God’s Word and the primary authority for the Church. We read Scripture alongside the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, the historic teaching of the Church, and the Book of Common Prayer, which shapes our worship and trains us to pray the Scriptures together. Through this shared pattern of prayer, we are formed not only in what we believe, but in how we live.
This is why Anglicanism is often described as reformed catholic. We are catholic in that we remain rooted in the faith and practice of the early Church. We are reformed in that we affirm the biblical convictions of the Reformation, especially the saving grace of God in Jesus Christ and the central authority of Scripture.
Our church is part of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), a growing province committed to orthodox Christian faith, biblical mission, and global fellowship. Anglicanism spans cultures and continents, holding together Christians from many backgrounds through common worship, shared doctrine, and a commitment to life in Christ.
At its heart, Anglicanism is about formation and mission—being shaped by Word and Sacrament, rooted in historic faith, and sent into the world to love God and neighbor.
