LAY PLANTER

RYAN WISE

Ryan grew up in Western Pennsylvania and has lived here most of his life. He attended Geneva College for his undergraduate studies and earned a Masters degree at Slippery Rock University. Ryan has taught at a Christian school for 14 years in a variety of subject areas including theology. Though he grew up in a nondenominational church, Ryan’s studies and experiences over the past decade began to convince him that there was beauty and strength in the Anglican tradition.

 

During a season of change in his life in 2024, Ryan, along with his wife Marlene and a few others, began to discern a call to help plant a new Anglican church in the Zelienople area. The church began to meet in the fall of 2024 and has continued to grow. Ryan and Marlene are also proud parents to three boys. Together, the Wises are committed to the slow, faithful work of planting a church shaped by prayer, hospitality, and love for the community.
